In India, NCERT has been the sole representative of the National Council of the Education Research and Training (NCERT) set up by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. NCERT has been functioning as the central authority on issues related to education since the Ministry of Education was established in 196. It is the sole agency responsible for preparing the syllabus and curriculum for all the government schools, and also oversees all the universities and all the government-aided private schools.
NCERT’s current 10th edition is divided into two parts. The first part covers the study of India and the second part covers the study of Geography.
